Lewiston’s elected officials ‘deeply troubled’ by allegations against ex-mayor

Elected officials in Lewiston say they’re “deeply troubled” by the allegations of racism and sexism that led to the resignation of Mayor Shane Bouchard. In the letter, the elected officials say all residents deserve support and respect and the ability to feel safe and included in their community. Bouchard resigned Friday after more than 150 of his texts were made public, including one that contained on a racist joke.
